Terms of Service

Last updated 3 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Duka. By setting up a shop or placing an order, you accept them.

What the service does

We give a merchant a web shop, created and managed over WhatsApp. We are not the seller. We do not hold stock, take payment, or deliver anything.

Between shopper and merchant

Every sale is a contract between the shopper and the merchant, not with us. The merchant is responsible for their prices, their stock, their delivery, and for honouring what they advertise. Payment is made directly to the merchant by the method shown on their shop; we never handle the money.

If an order goes wrong, contact the merchant first. Tell us if they do not put it right — we can remove a shop, and we will if it is dishonest.

A merchant's responsibilities

What is not allowed

Do not use the service to sell illegal or counterfeit goods, to impersonate someone, to send unsolicited messages, or to attempt to reach another merchant's data. We may suspend or remove a shop that does, without notice where the law or safety requires it.

Availability

The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It depends on WhatsApp, which we do not control. We do not promise that a shop will always be reachable, and we are not liable for lost sales.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your shop — see Delete my data. We may withdraw the service, and will give merchants reasonable notice and a chance to export their data where we can.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
